Revisiting Website Proposals For the New Year

A lot of people have been asking for an actual example of a web design proposal based on the post I wrote a while back entitled, “Writing a Web Design Proposal.” So today, I’ll be posting a PDF of my web design proposal. I hope you find it helpful in creating your own.

Keep in mind that the proposal you see fits my own needs and the way I conduct business with clients. You should definitely think of this as a template to help you create your own proposal.

    Thanks for sharing. This is a pretty detailed proposal. It’s primary goal might be to lay the groundwork for the project I think it also shows an attention to detail and process to what you do.

    @ Brad C: When I take on a client (or potential client) I try to get as much as I can on paper before starting. It’s more efficient that way. I also include the proposal in my contracts so when the clients signs the dotted line, they are in essence approving what has been laid out.

    Excellent stuff! And yeah, it’s so important to include as much of the details as you can in the signed agreement.

    This is a really great post. I definitely need something as solid as this to present to clients. Am I free to base my own proposal document on the example you posted here?

    Another question,
    You can’t use this as the actual contract? I hate to ask since you have provided so much already, but any chance we can see a contract too?

    @Lorissa: Thanks!

    @Michael: Feel free to base your proposal on this one but keep in mind that proposals are specific to how you do your business.

    @Rob C: I’m hesitant to post a contract on my blog because laws are specific to your state or country. I’d hate to post something like that and then become liable down the road. You can however, rework the proposal to work as a contract.
