I was asked to write an article for .net magazine and it was published in their December 2006 issue with usability guru Jakob Nielsen on the cover.
My “article” is towards the back on page 104 under “Expert Advice.” That begs the question… does that now make me an expert? Can I put that on my resume?
Anyway, it was fun to do and the only thing I regret about it is the photo of me—it’s bad, bad, bad.

Wow! I’ve been checkin this site for ages and with no change… the redesign looks fantastic – clear, bright. I really like it!
Congratulations about your appearance in .net magazine. I bought that issue, but alas I cannot remember seeing you in it – I’ll have to have a second look
. Anyway great redesign Jen, and good to see you blogging again.

Thanks Steve! I keep looking at the overall redesign thinking, it’s too simple… I like what I did with the blog but am not so sure about the actual site. Meh… what’re you gonna do? As far as blogging, I’m giving it another go. We’ll see what happens.
And apparently I need to work on the comments… Something weird going on here.

Funny?? Think of it as ‘characteristic’ – sounds better

I’m gonna have to pick me up a copy of .net now
Lovin’ the simplicity of the site Jen – it’s definitely not too simple. There’s too much unnecessary visual clutter around these days. Very, very good.

Thanks for the reassurance. I guess I’ve just become so accustomed to cluttered designs (I mean look at any of the stuff I did for PETA, it was requested to be that busy) that stripping it down kinda scares me.
And as far as .net, I’d look over the article before shelling out your dough!
