I moved the weekend of July 19th from Norfolk, VA to Silver Spring, MD. Unfortunately, me and the folks that moved to Maryland, didn’t get the right size U-Haul so we had to go back last weekend to move the rest of our things—mostly, still didn’t get them all. I’m sore, living out of boxes and contracted my first cold in several years. Other than that, my initial impressions are that I like the area much better with the exception of not having a suitable independent coffee shop in close proximity. I’ll have to make my own coffee in the mornings now; oh the inhumanity.
My office is currently filled with an overwhelming amount of boxes and I don’t have my usual computer configuration set-up meaning I’m missing my hard drives, my printer and most importantly, my iPod—it’s just me and my laptop these days. I have to learn new cable channels and have yet to venture to one of the many conveniently located Ethiopian restaurants but I can tell I’ll have many adventures to come especially with the Metro a seven minute walk away.

Hi Jen,
I’ve all this moving malarky to look foward to. In three weeks I’m leaving Scotland for a return to Northern Ireland, and a contemplation of future moves.
Good luck in your independent coffee shop hunt.

Yayness of the move! I hope you settle in well soon and get over that bugger of a cold.

@David:
Let me tell ya, that moving stuff is exactly that, a bunch of malarky. I think I’m going to start a moving fund so when I have to do it again, I can just pay someone. As far as my coffee shop hunt, there are several 30+ minutes away which is just not at all convenient.
@Lorissa:
I’ll post pics as soon as it looks more like a house and less like a warehouse. As far as my cold is concerned, I’m at the stuffy nose, cough deep in the lungs, ribs hurt real bad stage. I think I’m almost over it.

It’s so great to change the way of life and move to some other place of living. Good luck in your new life! Coffee shop is not the most necessary thing. Love for the place you live in is.

I was wondering what happened to you. Enjoy your new location. Feel better too.

@lastAutumn:
I couldn’t agree more.
@Rob:
Hey Rob, thanks, I am starting to feel better so that’s always good news. As far as what happened to me, I actually got quite busy and couldn’t blog for a while and then I got out of the habit of doing it. I need to get back into that habit.
