Automator
Recently I’ve been taking advantage of using Colour Lover’s download palette option for Adobe Photoshop. One of the things I found rather annoying about this task was having to move the download file into the Photoshop Color Swatches folder. After a bit of research, I came up with the solution of using ‘Folder Actions’ along with ‘Automator’. Basically what happens is once the file is downloaded into a specific folder, the folder action, which is always running, then moves that file to the ‘Color Swatches’ folder. I don’t have to do a damn thing! Yeah, for laziness and automation. I’m sure this isn’t as profound to others as it is to me but any seconds saved in my day, the better.

Since I was so taken with this, I decided to do a little pictorial tutorial of the process for all you Apple OS X Tiger holdouts. This is an image heavy post, so it may take a while to load.

For my British friends, this post was inspired by beans on toast. For anyone else, I hope you find this useful. Cheers!

About Me

My name’s Jen; I’m a cynical, sarcastic, ex-drummer who is fond of dark humor. I've held way too many factory & retail jobs but finally found my calling one Christmas holiday in a dark, musty basement. I am now a CSS & XHTML web standards looney and can be found daily—when I’m not at my Mac—at the local fair-trade coffee shop buying an iced-soy mocha no matter the temperature.

I am also the owner of Pop Stalin Design specializing in CSS & XHTML web design as well as custom WordPress themes.
